LOVE AND HEARTHSTONE: Level 60 Hunter And Getting Married

What's better than getting a Level 60 Hero? Getting a surprise engagement! Hearthstone player mr.goodguy, who is actually female, was sitting at 499 wins with her Hunter deck. When she wanted to get that Golden Hero, her partner said that she should "wait until morning" because he had a "very special secret reward" for her. It was difficult for mr.goodguy, but she patiently waiting for the next day to arrive.

His partner arrived in the morning after work, saying that she can play it now, and that she did. Once she got the 500 wins and the Golden Hunter reward, her partner handed her a trophy that he bought. She was then told  to shake it, and she heard something when she did, and as she looked inside, a "beautiful diamond engagement ring" was discovered. A romantic and epic Hearthstone story it is.

LEGEND FACE HUNTER: No UTH, No Starving Buzzard

Legend Face Hunter

INTRODUCTION

You read that right. Someone used a Hunter deck without utilizing the infamous Unleash the Hounds + Starving Buzzard combo, and he reached Legend Rank. The objective of the deck, as it is called "Face" Hunter, is to consistently deal damage to the opponent each turn, ideally killing your opponent after six or seven turns. It sounds rather easy to play, but the player who used it states that it takes a bit of skill to determine whether to play a minion or use your hero skill.

THE DECK

Legend Face Hunter Deck

GAMEPLAY

Leper Gnome HunterElven Archer Hunter

Always be wary of a board swipe. It could be Paladin's Consecration, Mage's Flamestrike/Blizzard, Druid's Swipe, or Warlock's Hellfire, among others. Do not flood your board with minions. Always use your hero power whenever possible as most of your minions have Charge anyway and are better saving for the fourth turn and beyond in combination with your hero power. Remember, there is only one Tracking in this deck and that is used to get your finisher, which is likely Leeroy, or an answer to a threat, such as Eaglehorn Bow and Explosive Trap. Know when to play your cards, and use your hero power as often as possible.

Explosive Trap HunterEaglehorn Bow Hunter

When it comes to your opening hand, mulligan aggressively for great one-drops such as Leper Gnome and Elven Archer and do keep the Eaglehorn Bow since you should be expecting to increase its durability by playing traps. If you're going second and have two one-drops, mulligan for a two-drop to keep the early game pressure. Finally, against zoo, mulligan for Elven Archer and Explosive Trap.

Hearthstone HEALTH and DAMAGE Threshold: Knowing Lethal

If you're battling Miracle Rogue, you should know when to be wary of your health and stop attacking with your weapon. But what if you're against a Mage or a Warrior? How would you know if your health is sufficient enough for your opponent to deal lethal and win the game? Well, here are a few things worth noting:

DRUID

A Druid deck will often always have the Force of Nature + Savage Roar combo, which can deal at least 14 damage. Of course, more minions means more +2/+2s to go around.

MAGE

Well, given ten mana, a Mage user can cast Fireball + 2X Frostbolt + 2X Ice Lance for 20 damage. If Azure Drake, Bloodmage Thalnos, Ogre Magi, or any other minion with Spell Damage is in play, it would deal more than that.

ROGUE

With ten mana, a Rogue can deal 26 damage by playing Leeroy Jenkins, attacking with it for six, and then playing it two more times using Shadowstep to deal twelve additional damage, with the last attack increased by eight thanks to two copies of Cold Blood.

SHAMAN

Given ten mana, an Al'Akir the Windlord with two Rockbiter Weapons will deal 18 damage. More deadly is if the opponent has Flametongue Totem in play.

WARRIOR

A Grommash Hellscream hit by Cruel Taskmaster's ping will deal 12 damage.

WARLOCK

Warlock can deal 20 burst damage with ten mana by dropping a Leeroy Jenkins in play, buffing it with Power Overwhelming, and copying that Leeroy with a Faceless Manipulator.

2-MINUTE GUIDE TO GETTING 12 WINS IN ARENA

There are quite a lot of lengthy articles and videos giving Hearthstone players advice on how to improve their Arena runs. This isn't one of them. The video below lasts for only about two minutes, but what's intriguing is that the steps are indicated clearly, with the last one being "Step 5: Profit". And that's what this guy did in this well-edited video. I'm not kidding about the well-edited part, by the way. It's god good music and a glorious end. Well done, good sir! Of course, you need a bit of RNGesus' help to have an Arena run like this. And wish that you won't battle any Freeze Mage.

LEGEND AGGRO MAGE: No Epics, No Legendaries [900 Dust Budget Deck]

INTRODUCTION

Redditor cplayer wanted to prove that you can reach legend without having epics or legendaries, and he did it by using an aggro mage. He already leached Legend Rank in the Asian Server, but that deck included Bloodmage Thalnos and Leeroy Jenkins. So, he decided to make a totally affordable aggro mage deck on the North American Server, costing only 900 dust in total, and he reached Legend Rank with after 150 wins, starting from Rank 19.

THE DECK

THE CARDS

Ice Lance, Frost Bolt, Azure Drake, Arcane Intellect, Mana Wyrm, and Fireball are staple Mage deck cards. Arcane Missiles sometimes do not appear in such decks, and are replaced with Arcane Explosion. The Loot Hoarder is for card-draw, but some players use Novice Engineer instead if they don't have a Bloodmage Thalnos.

Amani Berserker: More and more aggro mages are using this card, simply because it has a three-point toughness and can deal five damage in one attack. It can kill a Chillwind Yeti if it became a 5/2, and survives a Consecration or Holy Light if it's a 2/3. What's best about it is that you can trigger its enrage ability with the Mage's hero skill.

Elven Archer: This is a great card to have if you're going second and this is in your opening hand. If you're opponent plays a Leper Gnome or something similar, the Elven Archer can just ping it for free. It's great for doing the last-damaging point and helping build your tempo. It works nicely with the fair amount of 1-damage pings coming from your Arcane Missiles and Knife Jugglers.

Harvest Golem: This is the replacement for Bloodmage Thalnos, but it many situations, the Golem is actually the better card, especially against aggro and because it's an annoying card to battle.

Argent Commander: The replacement for Leeroy, and although it costs two more mana and has a lesser attacking power, it does stand on its own because of its Divine Shield, aside from not giving your opponents a couple of 1/1 whelps.

Polymorph: This spell is your deck's third Fireball, especially when there are too many big minions that can prove to be deadly. In addition, Polymorph is a better card to use on Sylvanas Windrunner and Cairne Bloodhoof because it won't trigger Deathrattle. This is also good if you want to get rid of a taunter minion.

Chillwind Yeti: The game's best free four-drop, Chillwind Yeti packs a punch and will always provide good value for its cost. In some situations, it would be better to play this rather than Water Elemental on turn four, if you're expecting your opponent to play something with four or five health (if it's 5, that's where you use the Mage hero skill).

Leper Gnome: It's a great first-turn play (except when you're battling Mage or Druid or Rogue) and deals two direct damage upon death.

Mirror Image: There is only one copy of this card in the deck because this is an aggro deck that has a lot of cards that will trade against the opponent's minions efficiently and help in controlling the board. The deck doesn't always need to buy some time or protect the board, although the card works greatly with Knife Juggler in play.

Sorcerer's Apprentice: She provides good tempo and has a decent 3/2 body for a two-drop, but the card is situational and depends on you holding spells to cast in order to provide the best value, making Amani Berserker a better play on turn two.

Wolfrider: This is still good to have, especially against Shaman and Warrior, but two of it might be too much, with its meager 1-point health and all.

GAMEPLAY

The aggro mage has a lot of "control" tools, with Knife Juggler and Arcane Missiles providing random pings. Moreover, the four-drop Water Elemental can seal you the victory against Hunter, Warrior, Rogue, and sometimes, Paladin. Your direct-damage spells can of course be used for removal instead of burst damage to the opponent's face, so your play has to depend on an opening hand and a mulligan that can provide a great early game play, and of course, efficient use of mana.

With the deck costing only 900 dust because of ten common cards and five rares and having been proven of being capable to help you reach Legend Rank, you might want to try this out.

TRUMP's Most Amazing Comeback: Freeze Mage VS Druid

This is really amazing, and this just proves how excellent Trump is when it comes to deciding which cards to play at the right time. He knows that his Blizzard + Doomsayer combo might not work out against his opponent, and takes into account the cards that he has used, knowing if he can still "theoretically win" the game. This is a game of ups and downs, with Trump getting lucky enough to not get hit by Ragnaros on a few turns. From Alexstrasza to Archmage Antonidas to Cairne Bloodhoof and Sylvanas Windrunner, the board had a lot of strong minions, with Trump always wishing for a Blizzard or a Frost Nova. A very triumphant game for Trump!
